ARC is now accepting applications for the 2013 Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) planning proposals. LCI is a program that awards planning grants and transportation funds on a competitive basis to local governments and nonprofit organizations to prepare and implement plans for the enhancement of existing centers and corridors consistent with regional development policies.
The LCI program is open for funding to government jurisdictions and non-profit organizations in the 18-county Atlanta Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) boundaries . To be considered for an LCI award, a jurisdiction must maintain Qualified Local Government (QLG) status or show progress toward reinstating QLG status through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Once an LCI plan is completed and adopted, sponsors may apply for LCI Transportation funding to help implement plan projects.
Applications for 2013 LCI planning funds are due on November 16th, 2012. To learn more about the LCI program, eligibility requirements and apply for funding, visit ARC’s LCI application website.
