The Transportation Investment Act of 2010 (HB 277) paves the way for a potential new source of transportation funding for Georgia Regional Commissions. The law allows 12 regions throughout the state to vote on a 10-year, one-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. Regional Roundtables have been created for each of these regions, which are tasked with developing lists of projects to be funded by the sales tax, pending voter approval in 2012.
