Taking a cue from cities such as Bogotá and New York, Atlanta is gearing up for Atlanta Streets Alive, an event that will help people get out and enjoy physical activity on streets closed off to automotive traffic, while rediscovering the streets and businesses of Atlanta. Atlanta Streets Alive will take place on Sunday, May 23rd, from 1-6pm and is completely free and open to the public. Five miles of streets will be closed to traffic, allowing people to walk, jog, bike, take exercise classes and get active with healthy activities while meeting new people. This event, which will be similar to other “ciclovias” held in a variety of cities in the Americas, will be staged at Woodruff Park.
